The Application Server
The Oware Application Server is the central engine for components on server systems, relieving other elements of significant programming infrastructure overhead. The Oware Application Server is a set of Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs) embedded within Oware EJBs provide remote access from clients to other components--the Virtual Rule Machine (VRM), Mediation Services, the Event Channel, and other services. For example, a client application that needs to check information in the classes database does not access application databases directly. Instead, the Application Server’s EJB mediates any insertions, queries, updates, or deletes. Application server also supports optional high availability clustering.
When connecting to a cluster whose primary application server goes down, clients may lose connection to the application server (cluster). If you receive the lost connection to appserver message, wait a few minutes for the client to reconnect (or restart the client).
