Case 1: Vendor supports TFTP
FTP creates the directories and files for the transfer of configuration files for File Management. (TFTP does not support the creation of directories or files.) However, the data in the files is transmitted via TFTP.
File Management requires different File Server settings for Windows and Solaris. A Windows machine with both FTP and TFTP servers installed displays the parameter Server Input/OutPut Path as blank. This parameter is specified when the FTP and TFTP servers are set up.
For Solaris, the Server Input/OutPut Path is set to /tftpboot/ to handle security issues. The /tftpboot/ path is the default for the TFTP server. File Management uses this directory as the base through which all files are transferred and received by FTP.
